About us
The Childhood Trust, founded in 2013, is a charity dedicated to alleviating the impact of poverty for children and young people in London. Our work aims to improve children’s physical health, mental resilience, safety at home and in the community, and confidence, to prepare them for life and ensure a better future; our focus is on creating measurable impact and improving outcomes for disadvantaged children in each of these four pillars. We do this through our London Partner Network, providing much-needed investment for local, voluntary organisations in London that deliver practical interventions proven to improve children’s lives; our Transforming Spaces: Community Outreach Programme, improving safety and wellbeing at home and in the community for children from the most deprived London boroughs; and our Research and Advocacy, amplifying children’s voices, facilitating collaboration and networking, publishing and hosting the annual London Child Poverty Summit, raising awareness of child poverty to drive change.
Help children living in poverty access vital support
We are facing a child poverty crisis. 700,000 children are living in poverty in London, that’s nearly 40% of all children in the capital. Many families are struggling with impossible choices - like deciding between going hungry or sitting in the cold and dark. Children are running out of hope as they have seen so much hardship already.
Last year our donors help to fund projects supporting 236,000 children. Each project works to alleviate the effects of child poverty on vulnerable children and young people. Along with providing over 500,000 meals and snacks, we also gave children safe places to play, one-to-one support and brilliant life-transforming opportunities.
Please donate now to help us to reach even more children and prevent poverty from ruining their lives.
Every time we reach out to a child who is struggling we show them that they matter. Something every child needs to know. Thank you!
